Terms of use

Plain terms for a simple app.

Effective 12 September 2026

The service

YumCount estimates the calories and macronutrients of meals from photos, text or voice, and helps you track them. Estimates are ranges and can be wrong; they are for everyday awareness, not medical or dietary treatment. If you have a medical condition, follow your clinician.

Subscriptions

Premium is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through the App Store. The subscription terms below apply to every purchase.

Your content

You keep all rights to your photos and entries. You give us only the permission needed to process them for you and to store them in your private history. Do not upload content you do not have the right to use.

Fair use

Reasonable per-user limits apply to photo scans to keep the service fast for everyone. Automated scraping, reverse engineering of the food dictionary, or abuse of the referral programme (fake devices, self-referrals) may end your access.

Liability

The app is provided as is. To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for decisions made on the basis of an estimate. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer under local law.

Changes

We will announce material changes in the app before they take effect. Continued use after that date means you accept the new terms.
