Your plate is your business.
What we collect
- Profile answers you give during onboarding: goal, sex, age, height, weight, target weight, activity, language, region pack and units.
- Meal photos you take or select in the app are sent for analysis when you request an estimate or a photo-based correction. Saved meal photos remain in your private history on this device and are uploaded to private storage. They are not published to other users; sharing a meal is your choice.
- Logged meals: dish, portion, calorie range, protein, carbs, fat, time of day, and any edits you make.
- Usage events such as “scan started” or “paywall viewed”, without the content of your meals, so we can see which parts of the app work. Autocapture is off; we only record named events.
- Other records you choose to enter: water, weight, workouts, saved meals, custom foods and preferences.
- Subscription status: whether you have an active Premium subscription or trial, received from Apple through Superwall. Payments are handled by Apple; we never see your card details.
What we do not do
- No advertising SDKs, no ad tracking, no selling or renting of data.
- No email sign-in is required. The app creates an anonymous identity for server requests and syncing logs. This version does not offer email linking or restoration of an anonymous account.
- No medical advice. Estimates are ranges for everyday tracking, not diagnosis.
Where data lives
Your full profile, preferences, custom foods and history are stored on your device. Logged meals, meal items, water, weights, saved recipes, workouts and timing records are also sent to Supabase, which provides authentication, database and private photo storage. The current app sends logs to the server but does not restore them onto a new installation.
Photo and text analysis use OpenRouter and its model providers. Named product events use PostHog EU. Processor retention and model-training practices depend on their terms and the service configuration; this app does not expose a photo-history or processor-retention switch.
Subscriptions are paid through Apple; we never see your card details. Superwall receives your anonymous ID and subscription status to show the paywall and unlock Premium.
Your controls
- Export from Settings → Export everything. The ZIP includes CSV and JSON records, your profile and preferences, available meal photos, and a manifest identifying photos unavailable on this device.
- Delete from Settings → Delete everything, then confirm. The app checks that server-side account and meal-photo deletion succeeded before clearing this device. If deletion fails, your local data remains so you can retry. Deletion instructions.
- Log out clears this device but retains synced server records. Export first: the current anonymous account cannot be restored after logout or reinstalling.
- Camera and photo access can be managed in your device settings. Typing meals remains available when camera permission is denied.
Website and launch emails
If you join the website waitlist, we collect your email address, selected language and signup time to send the launch email you requested. A configured signup service receives this information. The website remembers your language and theme in your browser. A short-lived server rate limit uses the request’s network address to prevent repeated submissions. To ask about or remove a waitlist entry, contact us using the address below.
